Only if Colombia is able to continue to grow like it did last year for a period of 25 years, by the year 2038 it will be considered a middle-income country and the country could move to the third place in the Americas when it comes to competitiveness. The Colombian government already announced 15 specific actions needed to ensure a continuation of the economic growth, that’s already showed a slight stagnation, because of the inflation and the economi insecurity in the U.S.In a Conpes document released Tuesday, the government stressed the need to simplify the tax system and, among other things, increase prosecution for tax evasion.
