A major Colombian transportation company heir arrested yesterday on charges of homicide and forced disappearance, believed to have been perpetrated in league with paramilitaries, was the owner of 20 firearms of uncertain legality.

CTI, the police agency of the Attorney General’s office, is investigating whether the collection of arms – a mix of rifles, machine guns and handguns – found in Albeiro Hugo Quintero Restrepo’s luxurious farmhouse were legally obtained and registered, reported Caracol Radio.

The majority of the guns were display on the wall of an underground bunker at the farmhouse, located in the Bello municipality, inside of which Restrepo is said to have slept, reported La Chiva.

The farmhouse, equipped with tennis courts, swimming pool and one room with a door of solid rock, was searched by agents, but other than an extensive security system, no finds were reported.

Quintero Restrepo, owner of Bellanita de Transportes y Tax Col, and known as the ‘Boss of Bello’ (‘Boss of Bello’) was arrested Thursday at the farm on suspicion of involvement in paramilitaries, charges that arose from testimony from demobilized AUC leader Éver Velosa, a.k.a. ‘HH’.
